We are four long-time locals, two gals and two guys. Our name comes from the fact that some of us call the Live Oak are of Santa Cruz home. We play extended versions of songs from bands that were popular in SF in the 60’s/70’s, and are particularly interested in resurrecting songs that didn’t get a ton of airplay. For example, we do Jefferson Airplane, but choose songs like 3/5 of a Mile in 10 Seconds and High Flying Bird, instead of White Rabbit. All of us are die hard Dead Heads, so the GD have some prime real estate on our set list. We also like to throw down some classic blues, such as Hard to Handle, Rollin’ and Tumblin’, and Tore Down, and we’ll toss in some long-lost seminal 60’s and 70’s rock tunes (anybody remember Pictures of Matchstick Men?). Or how about Funk 49? We play locally at places like Joe’s in Boulder Creek. Poet and Patriot, and Shanty Shack. We had a lot of fun playing the Food Truck event last year!
